Family Consultations

The early childhood mentor teaching team is composed of experienced and highly trained professionals each with decades of putting the theories of Dr. Emmi Pikler and Dr. Maria Montessori into daily practice. All have completed RIE® Foundations in Theory and Observation, many are mothers themselves and on the RIE® Pathway towards Associate status.

 

The Guides participating in the individual family consultation services are matched individually with families based on shared interests and areas of expertise. Parents are able to schedule consultation on an “as needed” basis or secure on-going mentorship as their child matures. Using Magda Gerber’s Educaring® Approach, families are supported in a variety of ways including:

 

• Preparation before baby

• Home environment design

• Healthy sleep routines

• Supporting the natural unfolding of gross motor development

• Forming healthy attachments

• Preparing for meal times

• Diapering (from infancy to stand-up diapering to toilet learning)

• Limit Setting

• Play Activities based on maturation
